Illustrations & Licensing

I fell into licensing after a little soul searching as an artist. I studied studio art in college and the goal was always “fine art”, which I love… BUT, it wasn’t until I worked for a company teaching art classes, that I discovered I can produce a lot of art and fast.
They had a royalty based program to incentivize artists to submit paintings for their company, which I took advantage of. In a year and a half I had submitted over 300 paintings and the royalties were paying the bulk of my expenses.
The experience taught me I really enjoyed the challenge of creating something that would sell to the general public. I had to make something that was beautiful and would sell tickets but could be taught to a beginner in 2 hours or less. It also, showed me my creativity is a gift then never stops giving. I can work fast and never feel like I am running out of new ideas.

Teachable Paintings

These paintings were created for “sip and stroke” type classes at a company called Yay Maker. For a few years a I taught the 2 hour classes to mostly beginner painters. During my last year and a half, I was solely creating and submitting paintings, adding over 300 paintings to their event library.
